HOW IT STARTED

It started with a shared idea. Martin Karm and Janari Nõmmik wanted to create something unique  around their musical passion, techno, that hadn't been seen in Finland before. SoundVault began in Helsinki as a small-scale project with the aim of bringing quality techno music to a broader audience while maintaining the organizers' core principle: creating a safe atmosphere where everyone can be themselves. Initially, the activities were modest, focusing on local gigs and fostering a close-knit community of electronic music enthusiasts.

First Sold out event

In 2021 due to pandemic, the founders had the opportunity to host a larger scale event in a legendary Wanha Satama which had to shut down its regular day to day business due to pandemy regulations and was looking for new way to make revenue. This promised to elevate SoundVault's status but required resources and risk-taking. The pandemic-related gathering restrictions posed significant challenges, and the risk of cancellation was ever-present.

Initially The event was supposed to be held in April but got pushed back until October 31, featuring Techno best seller artist Space 92. The event was a huge success, garnering positive reviews and significantly raising SoundVault’s profile the Finnish Techno scene. They gained a loyal following and attracted attention from top artists and industry players. The success opened new doors and opportunities, as well as new challenges.

Growth and Development

Since its early days, SoundVault has expanded its horizons, hosting events primarily at Valkoinen Sali in Helsinki and featuring some of the biggest names in the global techno scene. A signature of SoundVault’s events has been the fusion of music and visuals, with Aleksandr Zarudni of Top Stage designing custom stages that elevate each event’s atmosphere.

In 2024, SoundVault introduced Adrenaline, a hard techno concept designed for full immersion. With its signature 360-degree "Adrenaline Stage" and a strict no-filming policy, the event creates a raw, in-the-moment experience where attendees can lose themselves in sound and energy.

Stepping into 2025, SoundVault launched The Resistance, a hardstyle concept born from a narrative of rebellion and unity. The event invites attendees to rise up and fight oppression through music. To further embody the spirit of unity, a portion of ticket sales will be donated to a charity chosen by the attendees, reinforcing the movement’s commitment to positive change.

With these new concepts and ongoing innovation, SoundVault continues to redefine what it means to celebrate electronic music in Finland.

TODAY AND BEYOND

SoundVault has evolved into one of Helsinki’s leading techno event organizers, known for world-class stage production, unforgettable lineups, and a passionate community. With each event, the team’s vision continues to grow—delivering immersive experiences that push the boundaries of sound and visuals. Whether through intimate gigs or large-scale raves, SoundVault remains committed to creating a space where everyone can come together to celebrate their love for techno.
